A note from Michael

It’s been a long journey, but I am still in awe at how far HADC has come over its 10 plus years as an organization. A moment like this is not only the time to celebrate the success of HADC, and the families that have been helped over the years, but to also reflect on the steps it took to make a dream like this possible. Over the last 10 years, HADC has worked endlessly to supply children with enough insulin to survive, and enough financial resources to make sure diabetes was not always on the back of their mind. Providing families with diabetes screenings, medical supplies, doctor visits, and other resources can all be traced back to the support and planning of the staff involved with HADC each day. Without them, HADC would never have gained the traction it did.

Sitting at the helm of this project is someone I’ve known to appreciate over the years not only as a mother, but as someone who has given hope to many children dealing with this debilitating condition. Tami Balavage has been part of HADC since day 1, and her spirited vision for HADC can be seen as a personal one, as it might stem from my own diagnosis. Being able to see first hand how diabetes can be both a financial and medical burden, it motivated her to see a difference in the lives of those who deal with this same scenario. I couldn’t be more proud of her and her accomplishments, along with everyone involved with HADC. Here’s to another 10 years!
